A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to manufactured housing.                                             
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 1201.003(15), Occupations Code, is 
amended to read as follows:
		(15)  "Manufactured home" or "manufactured housing" 
means a HUD-code manufactured home [or a mobile home].
	SECTION 2.  Section 1201.054(d), Occupations Code is amended 
to read as follows:
	(d)  A rule takes effect on the 30th day after the date of 
publication of notice that the rule has been adopted, except that a 
rule relating to installation standards may not take effect later 
than the 60th90th day after the date of publication of notice.
	SECTION 3.  Section 1201.221, Occupations Code, is amended 
to read as follows:
	(a)  On written request, the department shall provide 
information held by the department on:
		(1)  the current ownership of a manufactured home; and                        
		(2)  the existence of anyall tax liens on that home for 
which notice has been filed with the department.
	(b)  A request under Subsection (a) must contain:                              
		(1)  the name of the owner of the home as reflected on 
the statement of ownership and location; or
		(2)  the identification number of the home.                                   
	SECTION 4.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
