A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to requirements for the residence of an emergency medical 
services medical director.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 773, Health and Safety 
Code, is amended by adding Section 773.0455 to read as follows:
	Sec. 773.0455.  EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES MEDICAL DIRECTOR 
QUALIFICATIONS.  A person may not act as a medical director for an 
emergency medical services provider unless the person is a resident 
of this state and resides in the county where the emergency medical 
services provider is located or in a county contiguous to the county 
where the emergency medical services provider is located.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
