A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to performance incentive awards for certain employees of state agencies who provide services to veterans. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter K, Chapter 659, Government Code, is amended by adding Section 659.264 to read as follows: Sec. 659.264. VETERANS PERFORMANCE INCENTIVE AWARD. A state agency may make a performance incentive award to a classified employee for providing services to veterans as provided by the Jobs for Veterans Act (Pub. L. No. 107-288), if: (1) the employee has been employed by the agency in the employee's current position for at least six continuous months before the effective date of the award; and (2) the employee's documented job performance and productivity in that position are consistently above that normally expected or required. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
