AN ACT
relating to performance incentive awards for certain employees of state agencies who provide services to veterans. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter K, Chapter 659, Government Code, is amended by adding Section 659.264 to read as follows: Sec. 659.264. VETERANS PERFORMANCE INCENTIVE AWARD. A state agency may make a performance incentive award to a classified employee for providing services to veterans as provided by the Jobs for Veterans Act (Pub. L. No. 107-288), if: (1) the employee has been employed by the agency in the employee's current position for at least six continuous months before the effective date of the award; and (2) the employee's documented job performance and productivity in that position are consistently above that normally expected or required.
