A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to allowing a governmental body to discuss matters regarding computer security in a closed meeting. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 551.076, Government Code, is amended to read as follows: Sec. 551.076. DELIBERATION REGARDING SECURITY DEVICES OR COMPUTER SECURITY; CLOSED MEETING. This chapter does not require a governmental body to conduct an open meeting to deliberate: (1) the deployment, or specific occasions for implementation, of security personnel or devices; or (2) matters relating to computer security or the security of other information resources technologies. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
