A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the duties of the Texas Historical Commission relating
to El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 442, Government Code, is amended by
adding Section 442.021 to read as follows:
Sec. 442.021. EL CAMINO REAL DE LOS TEJAS NATIONAL HISTORIC
TRAIL. (a) In cooperation with the National Park Service, the
commission shall administer and coordinate the efforts of state and
local public and private entities in this state regarding the
preservation of El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic
Trail.
(b) The commission shall develop educational and
interpretative programs relating to El Camino Real de los Tejas
National Historic Trail.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
