A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the authority of a junior college district or local workforce development board to contract under the Interlocal Cooperation Act. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 791.003(4), Government Code, is amended to read as follows: (4) "Local government" means a: (A) county, municipality, special district, junior college district, or other political subdivision of this state or another state; (B) local government corporation created under Subchapter D, Chapter 431, Transportation Code; (C) political subdivision corporation created under Chapter 304, Local Government Code; [or] (D) local workforce development board created under Section 2308.253; or (E) combination of two or more entities described by Paragraph (A), (B), [or] (C), or (D). SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
