CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
	WHEREAS, The Texas Dental Association and Texas Dentists for 
Healthy Smiles sponsored the eighth Texas Mission of Mercy in 
Dallas on February 23 and 24, 2005; and
	WHEREAS, During that period, the Texas Mission of Mercy 
charitable dental clinic administered much-needed oral health care 
to more than 650 Dallas County residents; and
	WHEREAS, More than 100 dentists volunteered their services at 
the event, providing charitable care valued at more than $250,000; 
and
	WHEREAS, Since its founding, the Texas Mission of Mercy has 
supplied nearly 6,000 Texans with charitable dental care worth over 
$2,225,000; and
	WHEREAS, The Texas Dental Association and Texas Dentists for 
Healthy Smiles continue to provide those in need with important 
access to dental care, thus contributing to the improved health and 
well-being of many Texans; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas 
hereby commend the members of the Texas Dental Association and 
Texas Dentists for Healthy Smiles for offering vital dental care to 
their fellow Texans through the Texas Mission of Mercy; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for these two groups as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
