CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
	WHEREAS, The World Championship Wild Game and BBQ Cook-off, 
which takes place May 13 and 14, 2005, at Pier 21 of the Strand 
Historic District in Galveston, is the premiere event of its kind in 
the Lone Star State; and
	WHEREAS, Now in its ninth year, the World Championship Wild 
Game and BBQ Cook-off attracts thousands of participants and 
spectators from across Texas each spring; and
	WHEREAS, This celebrated event is sponsored by Yaga's 
Children's Fund and benefits such vital charitable organizations as 
Gulf Coast Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Child Advocacy Center, 
the Hope Foundation for Retarded Children, and Ronald McDonald 
House of Galveston; and
	WHEREAS, In addition to enjoying the cook-off competition, 
attendees can participate in a silent auction, view the Friday 
night fireworks display, and experience an array of tasty food; and
	WHEREAS, For nearly a decade, the organizers of the World 
Championship Wild Game and BBQ Cook-off have hosted an event that 
serves up a Texas-sized helping of fun and entertainment while also 
raising money for children in need, and this wonderfully unique 
spectacle has become a Lone Star tradition worthy of special 
recognition; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas
hereby designate the Yaga's Children's Fund World Championship Wild 
Game and BBQ Cook-off as the Official Wild Game Cook-off of Texas 
and extend to all those involved best wishes for a memorable event.
