HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Crawford Pirates football team endured a sixteen game undefeated season to claim the UIL Class 2A Division II State Championship; and WHEREAS, A championship effort of this magnitude is one that must be put forth by more than just the team on the field; its spirit organizations must gladly take on the responsibility to raise community spirit, no matter what it takes; and WHEREAS, This responsibility was met by the Crawford High School Cheerleaders in a manner which is deserving its own distinction as a "championship effort"; and WHEREAS, This cheerleading squad often endured its own long hours, long days, and long nights of practicing, making signs, balancing their own school schedules, as well as their other extracurricular activities, and handling their own physically demanding tasks for the duration of the season and beyond; and WHEREAS, With the unending support of sponsor Marilyn Judy and their families, the Crawford High School Cheerleaders were a most integral part of raising the spirit of the community; now therefore be it RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby congratulate the Crawford High School Cheerleaders on their own championship season; and be it further RESOLVED, That congratulations be extended to each member of the squad, including sponsor Marilyn Judy; members Abby Dixon, Jennifer Jones, Shanna Lippe, Ashlea Lowe, Katy Pearson, Whitney Post, Brianna Shelton, and Mallory Williams; and Pirates mascot Angela Croford; and be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Crawford High School as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
