HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, On January 20th, 2005, the Crawford High School Band became the only high school band from Texas to perform in the Inaugural Parade of President George W. Bush; and WHEREAS, Even before this momentous occasion, this group of musician-students also proudly took on the role of a key spirit-raising group in the undefeated season of the Crawford Pirates football team; and WHEREAS, Where taking on even one of these tasks would have been more than enough for one band, the Crawford High School Band took on both without missing a beat; and WHEREAS, The efforts of this group to raise community spirit as well as funds for their trip to Washington, D.C., gained national attention and captured the hearts of all, highlighting the can-do spirit of the Crawford community; and WHEREAS, The undying determination of this band to offer its support to the school and community was expertly summed up by Director Paul Thronburg, who said, "We keep going. As long as they're going, we're going"; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby congratulate and honor the Crawford High School Band for their outstanding, successful, and eventful year; and, be it further RESOLVED, That congratulations be extended to each member of the band, including Director Paul Thronburg; Assistant Director Bryan Weaver; Drum Major Alyena Blackketter; members Ana Beers, Joshua Beers, Benjamin Berry, Bethany Berry, Mary Bucher, Louie Cook, Austin Dixon, Daniel Harris, Stephanie Hodges, Michael Holcomb, Andrew Hufford, Johanna Jhant, Andrew Judy, C.
