CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Beverly Pevehouse of Midland is being honored at the annual scholarship fund-raising dinner of the Texas Tech Club of Midland, and this special occasion offers a fitting opportunity to commend her for her service to the community; and WHEREAS, The president and chairman of the board of several family-owned businesses, Mrs. Pevehouse is active with numerous organizations and associations that benefit the citizens of Midland; she serves on the advisory board grants committee of the Permian Basin Area Foundation and as president of the Midland College Foundation, and she is a member of the board of governors of the Midland Memorial Foundation and the Museum of the Southwest; a former director of the Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research, she is also the honorary chairperson of Texas' Largest Garage Sale, an event that benefits Meals on Wheels; and WHEREAS, Other organizations that benefit from this remarkable woman's involvement include the chancellor's council of Texas Tech University, the building committee of First United Methodist Church, and the Alexis de Tocqueville Society of Midland, which is an organization composed of generous supporters of the United Way; and WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Pevehouse enjoys the support of her daughter, Melissa Ann Hoelscher, her son, Clay Alan Pevehouse, and her four grandchildren, Evan Clay Pevehouse, Sara Nicole Pevehouse, Katie Jo Pevehouse, and Laura Catherine Hoelscher; and WHEREAS, This dynamic and energetic woman has aided her fellow citizens in and around Midland in myriad ways, and she is most deserving of recognition for her outstanding record of civic leadership; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby honor Beverly Pevehouse for her selfless contributions to the betterment of her community and extend to her best wishes for continued success and fulfillment through her many good works; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Pevehouse as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
