CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Bobby Dejoux of Direct won first place in the 2003 State SkillsUSA Championships, and the memory of this outstanding achievement will undoubtedly remain with him for years to come; and WHEREAS, Approximately 4,000 students compete in the annual event hosted by SkillsUSA-VICA, a national organization that seeks to provide quality educational experiences promoting leadership, teamwork, citizenship, and character development for students preparing for careers in technical, skilled, and service occupations; and WHEREAS, Mr. Dejoux, under the able direction of his teacher, Bo Bolton, studied diligently and devoted many hours to understanding the fundamentals of the automobile; as a result, he won first place at the 2003 SkillsUSA state competition and went on to earn fifth place in auto service technology at the national competition; and WHEREAS, Having graduated from North Lamar High School, Mr. Dejoux is attending Pittsburg State College in Kansas, where he is using his scholarship money to study in the auto service technology program for a bachelor of science degree; and WHEREAS, Mr. Dejoux is a source of great pride to his parents, Zuli and Charles Dejoux of Direct, and he has distinguished himself as a young man of immense ability and potential; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby congratulate Bobby Dejoux on winning first place in the 2003 SkillsUSA state competition and extend to him best wishes for success in all his future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Dejoux as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
