CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Francis Vernon Ruble and Aimer Loutency Ruble of Bastrop are marking a very happy event in their life on May 23, 2005, with the observance of their 63rd wedding anniversary; and WHEREAS, Mr. Ruble and the former Aimer Bailey were married on May 23, 1942, in a double wedding ceremony with the bride's sister, Ethel, and her fiance, Lloyd Burleson, in the girls' family home in Montcalm, West Virginia; the Rubles lived in Bluefield, Virginia, until December of that year, when the groom left to serve this nation as a member of the United States Army during World War II; and WHEREAS, Following his honorable discharge on December 16, 1945, Mr. Ruble returned to the states and the couple made their home for many years on the East Coast, where they reared their three children, Ronald, Sandra, and Samuel; residents of Bastrop for the past 15 years, the Rubles today enjoy the love and affection of their children's families, including their son-in-law, Joe McKey, their grandchildren, Kathi Williams, Scott Otey and his wife, Diane, Susan Rougeau and her husband, Jay, and Paul and Eddie Ruble, and their great-grandchildren, Jesse Parker and Joshua and Jordyn Otey; and WHEREAS, Now leading a busy and fulfilling retirement, the Rubles belong to Calvary Baptist Church and are active in its senior citizens group, the Sweet Spirits, which sponsors a food pantry and visits to nursing homes and hospitals; regarded by several children at the church as their adopted grandparents, the Rubles readily lend a hand wherever help is needed, whether assisting the church secretary or helping with vacation Bible school; moreover, Mrs. Ruble teaches a Bible class for women while Mr. Ruble serves the congregation as a deacon; and WHEREAS, For 63 years, Mr. and Mrs. Ruble have shared life's trials and triumphs together, and it is a pleasure to join their loved ones in honoring them at this special time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby warmly congratulate Francis Vernon Ruble and Aimer Loutency Ruble on the occasion of their 63rd wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Ruble as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
