R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lauren Dannelley has deservedly been named
Elementary School Youth of the Year by the Sweeny Chamber of
Commerce; and
WHEREAS, The Youth of the Year award was created to honor
Sweeny students who have made contributions to their school and
community, and Ms. Dannelley is an excellent representative of the
students who attend Sweeny Elementary; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Dannelley is an eager learner who excels in her
studies and makes outstanding grades; also active in
extracurricular activities, she was elected to the student council
and serves as a mentor to first-grade students through the Buddy
Club; moreover, this exceptional young lady plays a wide range of
sports, including softball, basketball, volleyball, and golf; and
WHEREAS, A caring and compassionate individual, Ms.
Dannelley always selects a name from the Salvation Army's angel
tree at Christmastime to provide gifts for another child; she also
gives her time to make ornaments for the city Christmas tree; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Dannelley's friends, teachers, and family, and
now her community, have taken note of her remarkable achievements
and exemplary leadership skills; they see much promise in this
bright and talented youngster and are very proud to recognize her
present success; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Lauren Dannelley on being named
Elementary School Youth of the Year in Sweeny and extend to her
sincere best wishes for success in all of her future endeavors; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Dannelley as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
