H.R. No. 64
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Briteny Lea Brunner has deservedly been named the
High School Youth of the Year by the Sweeny Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, The Youth of the Year award was created to honor
Sweeny students who have made notable contributions to their school
and community; and
WHEREAS, One of Sweeny's outstanding students, Ms. Brunner is
ranked number three in her class and enjoys the distinction of being
an All American Scholar and a USAA National Mathematics Award
winner; she is a cheerleader and a member of the volleyball and
softball teams and has worked tirelessly to make her school a better
place through her involvement with the student council, OMNI Club,
and Leo Club; moreover, she has distinguished herself as an officer
in the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian
Athletes; and
WHEREAS, This impressive young Texan has also been an
excellent ambassador for her community, serving as the Brazoria
County Fair Queen, and an admirable role model, mentoring students
at Sweeny Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, A born leader, Ms. Brunner possesses poise,
dedication, and maturity beyond her years, and she may undoubtedly
look forward to a bright and rewarding future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Briteny Lea Brunner on being named
the Sweeny Chamber of Commerce High School Youth of the Year and
extend to her sincere best wishes for success in the years ahead;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Brunner as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
