R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lucille Burttschell of Sweeny has deservedly been named Woman of the Year by the Sweeny Chamber of Commerce; and WHEREAS, The Woman of the Year award was created to honor Sweeny citizens who have greatly contributed to their community, and Mrs. Burttschell has long been committed to making Sweeny a better place in which to live, work, and raise a family; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Burttschell and her husband, Frank, have spent many years working with the Little League, providing opportunities and enjoyment to area youth; and WHEREAS, She has generously lent her time and talents to Brazos Care, the Rotary Club, the Civic Club, and Sweeny United; reaching out to the less fortunate in the community, she has delivered hot dishes to the sick and elderly through Meals on Wheels, helped the needy find the means to pay an electricity bill, and made sure senior citizens received help with home repairs; and WHEREAS, A faithful congregant of the Methodist Church, Lucille Burttschell is a beloved member of her community, and her many contributions to her fellow citizens have made her worthy of this special honor; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Lucille Burttschell on being named Woman of the Year by the Sweeny Chamber of Commerce and commend her for her dedicated civic service and humanitarian endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Burttschell as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
