R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, David Trinidad Barrera, the beloved son of Diana A. Barrera of San Antonio, passed away on March 6, 2004, at the age of 12, and his untimely death has brought tremendous sadness to the many people who cherished him; and WHEREAS, Born in Edinburg on April 28, 1991, David was blessed with a bright smile, a happy disposition, and an eagerness to learn, and he captured the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him; during his courageous struggle with his illness, David benefitted tremendously from the love and support of his family and friends, and in return he brightened their lives with his kind and compassionate nature; and WHEREAS, Throughout his life, this remarkable young man displayed unwavering faith, resilience, determination, and strength beyond his years; and WHEREAS, While it is especially painful to say goodbye to one so young, it is fitting to remember that while David's time here was far too brief, he had a profound impact on those around him, and his memory will long endure in the hearts of those whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of David Trinidad Barrera and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his mother, Diana A. Barrera; to his grandmother, Linda V. Cruz; to his great-grandmother, Agustina Trevino; to his uncles, Ben and Steve Gloria; to his aunts, Irma Gloria Tittle and Ruby Martinez; to his great-aunts, Venny Munoz, Mary Salas, and Hope Vidaurre; to his great-uncles, Gilbert Vidaurre and Chilo Munoz; to his cousins, Ashley Marie Gloria, Daniel Kaycee, and Brianna and Alysa Tittle; and to all who mourn the passing of this much-loved young Texan; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of David Trinidad Barrera.
