H.R. No. 90
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Francisca D. Herrera on September 10,
2004, at the age of 92, has deeply saddened the family and friends
of this esteemed lady; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Herrera lived her life with integrity and an
unwavering commitment to family; she shared a rich and rewarding
union with her husband, the late Alfonso A. Herrera, Sr., that was
blessed with two sons and a daughter; moreover, she took joy in her
role as a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother; and
WHEREAS, The loving matriarch of her family and a cherished
friend to many, Mrs. Herrera played a positive role in the lives of
all those who were fortunate to know her; although her presence is
profoundly missed by her loved ones, her memory will not soon be
forgotten; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Francisca D. Herrera
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
sons, Alfonso A. Herrera, Jr., and his wife, Irma, and William R.
Herrera, Sr., and his wife, Sylvia; to her daughter, Irene Salazar,
and her husband, Altero; to her grandchildren, Alfonso A. Herrera
III and his wife, Lisa, Sonia Pompa and her husband, Rick, William
R. Herrera, Jr., and his wife, Betty, Greg R. Herrera and his wife,
Andrea, Jon Gary Herrera and his wife, Yolanda, Altero Salazar and
his wife, Jessica, and Melissa Field and her husband, David; to her
14 great-grandchildren; to her sister, Artemia Sanchez; to her
sisters-in-law, Anna Thorne, Alicia Ruiz, and Josefina Miller; to
her brothers-in-law, Roberto and Alfredo Herrera; and to her other
relatives and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Francisca
D. Herrera.
