R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Prince of Peace Christian School in Carrollton has been designated a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education, and this well-deserved accolade offers an apt opportunity to reflect on the school's contributions to the larger community; and WHEREAS, This prestigious designation is awarded to schools that have demonstrated excellence in a number of areas, including curriculum and instructional methods, academic achievement, and student and teacher attendance and retention; and WHEREAS, The selectivity of the Blue Ribbon award is evident from the fact that Prince of Peace is one of only 50 private schools in the nation and only three in Texas to be thus honored; and WHEREAS, Since its inception as a preschool in 1980, Prince of Peace Christian School has flourished and grown to encompass all grades from preschool through high school, with an able faculty of more than 60; and WHEREAS, Children are the Lone Star State's most precious natural resource, and in helping to ensure that its students receive a sound and useful education, the faculty, staff, and administrators of Prince of Peace have greatly benefited their fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Prince of Peace Christian School in Carrollton on being named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
