R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times, loving moments, and meaningful accomplishments may console the family and friends of Joseph Mulrooney of Houston, who died on December 12, 2004, at the age of 72; and WHEREAS, Born in Wilmington, Delaware, on February 19, 1932, Joe Mulrooney graduated from the University of Delaware and attended Northwestern College of Law; he was in the U.S. Navy and bravely served his country during the Korean War; and WHEREAS, Mr. Mulrooney enjoyed a successful career in finance and was an advisor with Salomon Smith Barney, a position in which he ably served for the past 25 years; and WHEREAS, A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Joe Mulrooney was admired and respected by all who knew him, and although he will be sorely missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he so richly blessed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Joseph Mulrooney and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Maureen Mulrooney; to his son, Mark Mulrooney; to his daughter, Sharon Wichterich, and her husband, Michael; to his stepdaughter, Elizabeth Emery; to his stepson, Michael DeMunn; to his grandchildren, Ryan and Reghan Wichterich; to his brother, Jim Mulrooney, and his wife, Ricie; to his sister, Mary Bailey, and her husband, George; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joseph Mulrooney.
