H.R. No. 120


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The faculty, staff, and students of Lutheran High North are marking a special milestone in 2005 with the commemoration of the school's 25th anniversary; and WHEREAS, An extension of the original Lutheran High School, which was created in 1949, Lutheran High North first opened its doors in the fall of 1980; since that time, the school has benefited from the able leadership of three principals, David Sommermeyer, Michael Greve, and Bruce Schaller, as well as the recent addition of headmaster Donald Christian in 2001; and WHEREAS, This exceptional institution of learning, which emphasizes academic excellence and encourages participation in co-curricular activities, is poising itself for a future of vigorous growth; in an effort to meet the school's growing needs, plans are already in place to renovate its current building, construct a new auditorium, and increase its staff size; and WHEREAS, For a quarter of a century, the faculty, students, and staff of Lutheran High North have participated in the noble pursuit of education, and their experiences at the school have firmly set hundreds of young Texans on the path to a bright and rewarding future; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby honor all those associated with Lutheran High North on the joyous occasion of its 25th anniversary and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
