R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Good Street Baptist Church in Dallas renamed its missionary society in honor of one of its most prominent members, E. Wilene Dade, on August 29, 2004; and WHEREAS, A dedicated congregant of the church since the early 1940s, Mrs. Dade has served as president of the Good Street Missionary Society for more than four decades; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Dade is a graduate of Bishop College, where she earned her bachelor's degree, and Texas Woman's University, where she earned her master's degree; devoted to the welfare of young people, she has positively affected the lives of countless children as a director of a Dallas child care center for over 45 years; and WHEREAS, Together with her husband, the late Dr. B. E. Dade, Mrs. Dade raised two beloved children of her own, Dr. Barbara Jean Dade-Martin and Billie Joyce Dade-Sanford; and WHEREAS, Throughout her remarkable tenure as president of the Good Street Missionary Society, Wilene Dade has helped the church maintain this vital ministry and fulfill its services; her steadfast commitment and generous spirit have contributed much to the life of the congregation, and it is fitting that she be recognized at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby recognize the dedication of the Wilene Dade Missionary Society of the Good Street Baptist Church and that E. Wilene Dade be honored for her many decades of faithful and exemplary service; and, be it further RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Dade and the church as expressions of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
