R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to pay 
tribute to our state's school counselors and to recognize February 
7 through 11, 2005, as National School Counseling Week in Texas; and
	WHEREAS, School counselors are employed in public and private 
schools across our state and nation to help students reach their 
full potential; and
	WHEREAS, By encouraging students to explore their abilities, 
strengths, interests, and talents, school counselors help them to 
find direction and develop career awareness; and
	WHEREAS, School counselors also help parents learn how to 
further the educational, personal, and social growth of their 
children; and
	WHEREAS, These committed educators seek to identify and 
utilize community resources that can enhance and complement 
comprehensive school counseling programs and help students to 
become productive members of society; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend the vital work carried out by our school 
counselors and extend to them best wishes during the observance of 
National School Counseling Week in Texas.
