R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times, loving
moments, and meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and
friends of Pauline Rosas Gobea, who died on January 22, 2005, at the
age of 65; and
WHEREAS, A native Texan born on June 30, 1939, in Mosheim,
Mrs. Gobea was an alumna of Waco High School, MCC, and 4-C College,
and graduated from Baylor University in 1983; this exceptional
teacher went on to a rewarding career with the Waco ISD that spanned
three decades; she began as a teacher's aide and spent the last 15
years in the classroom at Bell's Hill Elementary School, expecting
much from her kindergarten charges and sending well-prepared
students on to the challenges of the first grade; and
WHEREAS, She married George Gobea on November 3, 1962, and
the devoted couple shared an enduring bond of love, trust, and
respect that was further blessed with four cherished children, four
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Although her tragic passing has deprived us of her
presence, the memory of Mrs. Gobea's steadfast commitment to her
family and her students will always lighten the hearts of those
whose lives she touched; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of Pauline Rosas
Gobea and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to
her husband, George Gobea; to her daughter, Patricia Gobea; to her
grandchildren, Bianca, Daniel, and Deanna Tagle, and Charity
Hernandez and her husband, Porfirio; to her great-grandchildren,
Raymundo Delgado and Gimena Hernandez; and to the other relatives
and many friends of this beloved woman; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Pauline
Rosas Gobea.
