R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Among the many unsung heroes in Iraq, there are civilian workers like Jacob Carlos Gatlin of Katy, who was recently injured in the Sunni Triangle; and WHEREAS, In 2003, Mr. Gatlin chose to close his own business and travel to Iraq with KBR/Halliburton to help rebuild the devastated country; as a mechanic for diesel engines and generators in the town of Tikrit, he provided initial power to many dangerous, war-torn areas until he was injured by a mortar round; and WHEREAS, Through his tireless work ethic and desire to assist in the reconstruction of Iraq, this remarkable man has willingly undertaken enormous risks in order to serve his country; it is a pleasure to acknowledge his dedication and to join his family and friends in welcoming him home; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby recognize Jacob Carlos Gatlin and his contributions in Iraq and extend to him sincere best wishes for a swift and full recovery; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Jacob Carlos Gatlin as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
