R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The House of the Representatives of the State of
Texas joins the citizens of Houston in mourning the death of Dexter
S. Kimble, who died January 26, 2005, at the age of 30; and
WHEREAS, Dexter Kimble grew up in Houston, Texas; and
WHEREAS, He graduated from Smiley High School; and
WHEREAS, A true patriot, he served his country as a member of
the United States Marine Corps in three tours of duty in Iraq; and
WHEREAS, He is a 13-year veteran of the United States Marine
Corps, and he achieved the rank of staff sergeant; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Kimble was assigned to Marine Heavy
Helicopter Squadron 361, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine
Aircraft Wing, and he was on active combat duty in a CH-53E Super
Stallion carrying personnel from the 1st Marine Division on a
security mission in support of the Sunday, January 30, Iraqi
elections; and
WHEREAS, A devoted father, Staff Sergeant Dexter Kimble is
survived by his wife, Dawana Kimble, and his children; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of
Texas, 79th Legislature, honor the service and sacrifice of Staff
Sergeant Dexter Kimble; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of
Texas, 79th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
bereaved family of Staff Sergeant Dexter Kimble: his wife, Dawana
Kimble, his children, his mother, Judy Kimble, and his father
Willie Kimble; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a certified copy of this resolution be
prepared for the members of his family as an expression of deepest
sympathy from the Texas House of Representatives and that when the
Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory
of Staff Sergeant Dexter Kimble.
