R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The House of the Representatives of the State of
Texas joins the citizens of Houston in mourning the death of Dexter
S. Kimble, who died January 26th, 2005, at the age of 30; and
WHEREAS, Dexter Kimble grew up in Houston, Texas; and
WHEREAS, He graduated from Smiley High School; and
WHEREAS, A true patriot, he served his country as a member of
the United States Marine Corps in three tours of duty in Iraq; and,
WHEREAS, He is a 13 year veteran of the United States Marine
Corps and he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant; and
WHEREAS, Sgt. Kimble was assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter
Squadron 361, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing
and he was on active combat duty in a CH-53E Super Stallion carrying
personnel from the 1st Marine Division on a security mission in
support of the Sunday, January 30, Iraqi elections; and,
WHEREAS, A devoted father, Staff Sgt. Dexter Kimble is
survived by his wife, Dawana Kimble and children; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of
Texas, 79th Legislature, honor the service and sacrifice of Staff
Sgt. Dexter Kimble; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of
Texas, 79th Legislature hereby extend sincere condolences to the
bereaved family of Staff Sgt. Dexter Kimble: his wife, Dawana
Kimble, his children, his mother Judy Kimble, his father Willie
Kimble; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a certified copy of this Resolution be
prepared for the members of his family as an expression of deepest
sympathy from the Texas House of Representatives, and when the
House adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Staff Sgt. Dexter
Kimble.
