H.R. No. 178


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may temper the profound sadness brought by the passing of Robert G. Lynch on December 26, 2004; and WHEREAS, A respected and distinguished educator, Mr. Lynch became the founding dean of the graduate school of management at the University of Dallas in 1966, a post he held until 1979 when he was named vice president of administration; he began a 20-year term teaching management in 1981, after which he briefly served as interim dean of the graduate school of management; in 2002, Mr. Lynch was named interim dean of the college of business at its founding; and WHEREAS, This esteemed leader possessed a sincere and lasting concern for the welfare of his students and demonstrated his love of education through his volunteerism with the Irving Public Library system, serving two terms as treasurer of the Friends of the Library; and WHEREAS, Although his presence will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and the many beneficiaries of his service, Mr. Lynch will not soon be forgotten, for he has left a remarkable legacy that will continue to positively influence young Texans for generations to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert G. Lynch and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Lesta Lynch; to his two sons, Jeffery Lynch and Randall Lynch; to his daughter, Penny Sue Hayter; to his three grandchildren; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert G.
