R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lester Wahl is retiring as executive vice president of Marion State Bank on February 9, 2005, drawing to a close an outstanding 37-year career characterized by excellence and integrity; and WHEREAS, Mr. Wahl joined the staff of Marion State Bank as an assistant cashier on January 2, 1968, and was elected cashier in 1972; rising through the ranks, he became vice president six years later and was promoted to executive vice president in 1990; Mr. Wahl has served as chief operations officer of the bank and will continue to serve as a member of the board of directors; and WHEREAS, This distinguished professional has been instrumental in promoting the bank and makes a special effort to know the customers by name; his innumerable contributions to the success of Marion State Bank have helped to maintain its status as the oldest bank in Guadalupe County; and WHEREAS, For nearly four decades, Lester Wahl has dutifully served the citizens of Guadalupe County, earning the lasting respect of all who have been privileged to work with him, and it is a pleasure to recognize his exemplary tenure with Marion State Bank as he embarks on this exciting new chapter in his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Lester Wahl on his retirement from Marion State Bank and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Wahl as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
