R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, For her unyielding dedication to the children of her 
community, Cecilia Casarez of San Antonio has earned a Bank of 
America Foundation Neighborhood Excellence Initiative Local Hero 
award; and
	WHEREAS, At 70 years of age, Mrs. Casarez still works daily at 
the Presa Community Center, where she has devoted more than 14 years 
to meeting the needs of area youth; arriving early and staying late, 
she cooks hot meals daily for more than 100 children of 
single-parent, low-income families; and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. Casarez nurtures and sustains many individuals 
with her kindness and love, including her own family of six 
children, 23 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, A diligent advocate for children in need, she has 
enhanced the quality of life for countless young Texans, and it is 
important to pay tribute to selfless individuals such as Cecilia 
Casarez, who is indeed an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be 
it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby honor Cecilia Casarez for her myriad 
contributions to the Presa Community Center and congratulate her on 
earning a Bank of America Foundation Neighborhood Excellence 
Initiative Local Hero award; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mrs. Casarez as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
