R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Wendy Rohne of Dallas serves as the coordinator of
the Ferguson Road Initiative's Education Task Force, and she has
been highly influential in the many recent successes of the
program, which is dedicated to transforming the Ferguson Road
corridor into a safe, beautiful, prosperous, and proud community;
and
WHEREAS, A founding member of the first America's Promise
community in Dallas, Ms. Rohne has worked closely with Bayles
Elementary School, one of the Ferguson Road Initiative's "Safe
Havens"; as coordinator of the school's Bayles Fest, she has
greatly benefited at-risk families and youth by promoting health
and safety and working to prevent drug and alcohol abuse; moreover,
she has served as a role model to many young girls as the sponsor of
the Bayles Bobcat cheerleaders and leant her time and talents as the
organizer of Bayles' Kite Day, a spring event celebrating academic
achievement; and
WHEREAS, Wendy Rohne has set a sterling example of leadership
to which all may aspire, and her important work in behalf of her
community is exemplary; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Wendy Rohne on her work with the
Ferguson Road Initiative and Bayles Elementary School and extend to
her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Rohne as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
