R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Mike Franco of Clint on January 10,
2005, at the age of 71, has brought a profound loss to the family and
many friends of this respected Texan; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Franco had a 36-year career with the federal
government; a veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the U.S.
Army, he retired as an immigration inspector with the Immigration
and Naturalization Service; and
WHEREAS, This beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother,
and lifelong Clint resident was also a member of the San Lorenzo
Catholic Church, where he earned the lasting respect and sincere
admiration of his fellow parishioners; and
WHEREAS, Although he will be deeply missed, Mike Franco's
legacy of service to others, as well as his love of family and
community, will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all those whose
lives he touched; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of Mike Franco
and extend sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife of 49
years, Adelina A. Franco; to his sons, Mike Franco, Jr., Norman
Franco, and Ron Franco and his wife, Julie; to his daughters, Yvonne
Franco, Rachel Segura and her husband, Robert, Amanda Franco and
her husband, Cruz Valles, Jr., Diana Altenhoff and her husband,
Dwight, Corinne Kinley and her husband, Richard, Margie Franco, and
Lina Franco; to his grandchildren, Michelle, Christopher, Michael,
Shauna, Richie, Megan, Jacob, Alan, Matthew, Andrea, John, Sarah,
Breanna, Katelyn, Nathan, Elizabeth, and Joel; to his
great-grandson, Dante; to his brothers, Enrique and Juan Franco,
Jr.; to his sisters, Alicia Grijalva, Maria de Jesus Franco, and
Maria Antonia Macias; and to the other relatives and many friends of
this esteemed man; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mike
Franco.
