R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Knoxie Gore and Charles Gore, Jr., celebrated a
remarkable 50 years together on June 12, 2004, and a reception for
the couple at the Coliseum Annex in Brownwood on that day offered
family and friends a fitting opportunity to honor this beloved
couple; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gore and the former Knoxie Brown were married at
the First Christian Church in Brownwood on June 12, 1954; current
residents of Lake Brownwood, the couple resided for 35 years in
Lamesa, where Mr. Gore was employed by Energas Company and Mrs. Gore
worked for the Lamesa Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, the Gores have watched with pride
and delight as their family has grown to include three sons, Todd,
Joseph, and Phillip Gore, and seven grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Gore have found
strength, love, and companionship in their union, and their
steadfast commitment to each other is a source of tremendous joy and
inspiration to all who are privileged to know them; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Knoxie Gore and Charles Gore, Jr.,
on the momentous occasion of their 50th anniversary and extend to
them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Gore as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
