R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for rejoicing, and on April 20, 2004, George and Doris Schwartz of St. Lawrence marked this significant milestone in their long and happy marriage; and WHEREAS, George Schwartz and the former Doris Glass were married on April 20, 1954, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall; Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz have resided in several cities in West and South Texas, including Midland, Laredo, San Angelo, and Miles; in St. Lawrence, Mr. Schwartz farms and ranches while Mrs. Schwartz is a homemaker, a member of the St. Theresa Altar Society, and an election precinct chair; and WHEREAS, Through the five decades of their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz have watched their family grow to include seven daughters: Kathy Wheat, Becky Halfamann, Pam Wilde, Linda Frysack, Dorothy Denis, Elaine Hinojosa, and the late Jean Schwartz; they also have welcomed 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren into their large and loving family; and WHEREAS, The Schwartzes celebrated their anniversary on April 17, 2004, with a mass at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, followed by a reception and dinner hosted by their children; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz's enduring union remains a source of inspiration and joy to the family and friends with whom they have shared the richness of their lives, and this devoted couple is most deserving of warmest congratulations; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate George and Doris Schwartz on the momentous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
