R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for 
rejoicing, and on December 20, 2003, A. D. and Mary Reed of Ackerly 
marked this significant milestone in their long and happy marriage; 
and
	WHEREAS, A. D. Reed and the former Mary Oaks were married on 
December 20, 1953, in Ackerly; graduates of Ackerly High School, 
the couple has resided and farmed in this community since their 
marriage; and
	WHEREAS, The Reeds celebrated their anniversary at a 
reception on December 14, 2003, hosted by their son, Billy Reed and 
his wife, Sherry, their son, Don Reed, and their daughter, Jan Via 
and her husband, Guy Walt; their extended family now includes six 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and Mr. and Mrs. Reed 
take great pleasure in watching their grandchildren play sports and 
participate in rodeos; and
	WHEREAS, This devoted couple's enduring union remains a 
source of inspiration and joy to the family and friends with whom 
they have shared the richness of their lives, and they are most 
deserving of warmest congratulations; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate A. D. and Mary Reed on their 50th 
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for 
continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Reed as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
