R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for 
rejoicing, and on March 5, 2004, Gaylon and Dora Lee Winkler of 
Monahans marked this special occasion in their long and happy 
marriage; and
	WHEREAS, Gaylon Winkler and the former Dora Lee Tredaway were 
married at Southside Church of Christ in Midland on March 5, 1954; 
and
	WHEREAS, Throughout their five decades of marriage, the 
Winklers have felt great pride as their family has grown to include 
four children, Donna Bivins, Danny Winkler, Barbara Bingham, and 
Richard Winkler, eight grandchildren, and five 
great-grandchildren; the family gathered to celebrate the 
anniversary with the honored couple, making this joyous event all 
the more memorable; and
	WHEREAS, A resident of Monahans since 1960, Mr. Winkler 
worked for Halliburton and Schlumberger for a total of 37 years, 
while Mrs. Winkler was a homemaker and part-time worker before 
owning The Locker Room for five years; members of Third and Dwight 
Church of Christ of Monahans, the Winklers are also involved in Ward 
County 4-H programs and stock shows; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Winkler's enduring union remains a 
source of inspiration to the family and friends with whom they have 
shared the richness of their lives, and this devoted couple are most 
deserving of warmest congratulations; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Gaylon and Dora Lee Winkler on 
their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best 
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Winkler as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
