H.R. No. 304
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 68th wedding anniversary is truly cause for
rejoicing, and on December 6, 2004, Lance and Amelia Furlow marked
this special occasion in their long and happy union; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Furlow and the former Amelia Rietman were
married on December 6, 1936, in Littlefield; they subsequently
moved to the Lamesa area, where they farmed for many years; now
retired, they enjoy spending leisurely hours fishing together; and
WHEREAS, The Furlows' close-knit family has grown to include
six children, Barbara Jasper, Marilyn Staggs, Steve Furlow, Brenda
Isqar, Sheila Hensley, and Mark Furlow, as well as 14 grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Lance and Amelia Furlow's enduring marriage remains
a source of joy and inspiration to the friends and family with whom
they have shared the bountiful richness of their lives; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Lance and Amelia Furlow on their
68th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Furlow as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
