R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Carlos Perez, Sr., and Guadalupe Perez of Lamesa
commemorated their golden wedding anniversary among loved ones from
throughout Texas on September 27, 2003, with a renewal of their
wedding vows followed by a reception and dance; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Perez and his bride, the former Guadalupe
Morales, pledged their love and lifelong commitment to each other
on September 26, 1953, at the home of the bride's grandmother in
Seguin, in a double ceremony in which the bride's aunt was also
married; and
WHEREAS, Today, the couple take pride in their seven
children, Daniel Perez, Anna Jackson, Domingo Perez, Sr., Carlos
Perez, Jr., Jose Perez, Teresa Hernandez, and David Perez, and they
have also happily welcomed the arrival of 21 grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren into their family; and
WHEREAS, A native of Mexico, Mrs. Perez is retired from a
career as a seamstress, while Mr. Perez, a native of Seguin and
longtime resident of Lamesa, is retired from 35 years of employment
with Bill Weaver; and
WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have nurtured a strong
bond of love and filled each other's lives with great joy, and it is
a pleasure to honor their enduring union; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Carlos Perez, Sr., and Guadalupe
Perez on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Perez as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
