R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary is truly cause for 
rejoicing, and on February 23, 2005, Hubert and Letha Marie Benton 
of Midland County are celebrating this special occasion in their 
long and happy marriage; and
	WHEREAS, Hubert Benton and Letha Marie Lawson were married on 
February 23, 1935, in Lamesa; they resided in Dawson County until 
moving 60 years ago to Midland County, where they are engaged in 
farming; and
	WHEREAS, This devoted couple have been blessed with both a 
son, Michael Benton, and a granddaughter; and
	WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, the Bentons 
are also valued congregants of Greenwood Baptist Church in Midland; 
and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Benton's enduring union remains a 
source of inspiration and joy to the family and friends with whom 
they have shared the richness of their lives, and they are most 
deserving of warmest congratulations; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Hubert and Letha Benton on the 
momentous occasion of their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to 
them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Benton as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
