H.R. No. 321
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Edward and Martha Johnson of Midland celebrated
their 65th wedding anniversary on January 14, 2004, marking a
momentous event in their long and happy union; and
WHEREAS, United in matrimony on January 14, 1939, in Las
Cruces, New Mexico, Mr. Johnson and the former Martha Louise King
have built an enduring marriage that has been blessed with three
children, John, Bucky, and Jimmy Johnson, 11 grandchildren, and 17
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Valued members of the Midland community since moving
there from Lake Brownwood in 1994, Mr. Johnson is retired from a
distinguished 35-year career with El Paso Natural Gas and Mrs.
Johnson is a dedicated homemaker; and
WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have nurtured a strong
bond of love for 65 years, filling each other's lives with many
joyful times and cherished family memories, and it is indeed a
pleasure to honor them at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Edward and Martha Johnson on their
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Johnson as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
