R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary is truly cause for
rejoicing, and on December 7, 2003, Ralph and Ladie Fred Caffey of
Midland marked this significant milestone in their long and happy
marriage; and
WHEREAS, Ralph Caffey and the former Ladie Fred Crain were
married on December 7, 1943, in Trent; the couple lived in North
Carolina, New Mexico, California, North Dakota, and Big Spring
before moving to Midland in June 2003; and
WHEREAS, Through six decades, Mr. and Mrs. Caffey have
watched with pride as their family has grown to include three
children, Deborah Heath, Dianne Haun, and Linda Russell, as well as
seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; the couple
celebrated their anniversary at a family reunion on August 2, 2003;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Caffey is a retired Southern Baptist minister
and Mrs. Caffey worked as a school teacher and librarian; today,
they are both members of Crestview Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Caffey's enduring union remains a
source of inspiration and joy to the family and friends with whom
they have shared the richness of their lives, and this devoted
couple is most deserving of warmest congratulations; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ralph and Ladie Fred Caffey on
their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Caffey as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
