H.R. No. 324
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 55th wedding anniversary is truly cause for
celebration, and on December 22, 2003, Ken and LaVoe Peeler of
Midland marked this significant event in their lives; and
WHEREAS, Ken Peeler and the former LaVoe Bigham were married
on December 22, 1948, in Levelland; the couple resided there and in
Belton before moving to Midland; through the decades of their
marriage, they have watched with pride as their family has grown to
include two sons, Bruce Peeler and Kyle Peeler, and six
grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Peeler worked for Midland 66 Oil Company and
Community National Bank; he is also involved with the Southside
Lions Club, Texas Oil Marketers, National Oil Jobbers Association,
Tank Owners Association, Midland Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scout
Troop 160, and Midland College, where he serves as a trustee; and
WHEREAS, Retired from employment in the field of interior
design, Mrs. Peeler volunteers her time with the Texas Watercolor
Association, Pastel Society of America, Arts Assembly of Midland,
and Meals on Wheels, and she also teaches art at the local senior
citizen center; and
WHEREAS, The Peelers also both attend St. Luke's United
Methodist Church in Midland; for their enduring union and for all
they have accomplished in their life together, Mr. and Mrs. Peeler
are most deserving of warmest congratulations; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ken and LaVoe Peeler on their 55th
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Peeler as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
