R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Larry and Charlene Gnagy commemorated their 50th wedding anniversary with a special reception held at the Petroleum Club of Midland on September 27, 2003; and WHEREAS, The Gnagys were united in marriage on August 29, 1953, in Chico, beginning a loving relationship that has provided a strong foundation for their two children: Lynn James and Bob Gnagy; and WHEREAS, Currently an independent geologist, Mr. Gnagy has also been associated with several oil companies and independent operators over the course of his career; Mrs. Gnagy was a teacher, devoting 22 years to Midland ISD and 12 years to the Child Development Center at First Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, The couple have been members of First Baptist Church since 1953 and are active in many organizations; Mr. Gnagy is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists, and the West Texas Geological Society; he is a 32nd degree Mason and is a former president of the Midland Gem & Mineral Society, while Mrs. Gnagy is involved with the Texas State Teachers Association, the Epsilon Eta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Midland Retired Teachers' Association, and P.B.G.G.A.; and WHEREAS, Every anniversary prompts a husband and wife to reflect on the moments great and small that have shaped their lives together; Mr. and Mrs. Gnagy may look back with joy on the five decades they have shared thus far, and take pleasure in the knowledge that the enduring commitment and love for one another that they have enjoyed in the past will remain a constant in their lives in the future; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Larry and Charlene Gnagy on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Gnagys as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
