H.R. No. 330
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for
rejoicing, and on June 1, 2004, Harold and JoElla Briscoe of Midland
marked this significant milestone in their long and happy marriage;
and
WHEREAS, Harold Briscoe and the former JoElla Dornak were
married at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Jourdanton on June 1,
1954; the couple lived in Jourdanton, Houston, Abilene, Oklahoma,
and West Virginia before making Midland their permanent home; and
WHEREAS, Throughout five decades, Mr. and Mrs. Briscoe have
felt great pride as their family has grown to include four children,
Dennis Briscoe, Melissa Reddin, Brian Briscoe, and Anita Jernigan,
eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, and this close-knit
family gathered to celebrate the anniversary with the honored
couple; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Briscoe worked for Dowell before his retirement
in 1984, while Mrs. Briscoe has been a dedicated mother and
homemaker; sharing a common faith, they are both members of St.
Stephen's Catholic Church; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Briscoe's enduring union remains a
source of inspiration and joy to the family and friends with whom
they have shared the richness of their lives, and this devoted
couple is most deserving of warmest congratulations; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Harold and JoElla Briscoe on their
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Briscoe as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
