R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary is truly cause for 
rejoicing, and on June 6, 2004, Jesse and Lila Roberson of Midland 
marked this significant milestone in their long and happy marriage 
with a celebratory dinner and reception; and
	WHEREAS, Jesse Roberson and the former Lila Lee Claus were 
married at Pine Island Baptist Church in Pine Island, Louisiana, on 
June 6, 1944; and
	WHEREAS, Throughout six decades, Mr. and Mrs. Roberson have 
felt great pride as their family has grown to include five children, 
Glenn Roberson, Elaine Sullivan, Mark Roberson, Robby Roberson, and 
Linda White, as well as 11 grandchildren and nine 
great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Residents of Midland for more than 50 years, both 
Mr. and Mrs. Roberson worked for Mobil Oil Company and are active in 
the Mobil Permian Basin alumni and retirees club; they are also 
members of Crestview Baptist Church, where Mr. Roberson is a deacon 
and Mrs. Roberson teaches Sunday school; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Roberson's enduring union remains a 
source of inspiration and joy to the family and friends with whom 
they have shared the richness of their lives, and this devoted 
couple is most deserving of warmest congratulations; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Jesse and Lila Roberson on the 
occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them 
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Roberson as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
