R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for rejoicing, and Edward and Jane Wooten of Midland marked this significant milestone in their long and happy union on November 15, 2003; and WHEREAS, Edward Wooten and the former Jane Decker were married on November 15, 1953, in Midland; and WHEREAS, Over the past five decades, their close-knit family circle has grown to include four children, Connie McClellan, Robin Oliver, Kimberly Herring, and Steven Wooten, as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, This devoted couple continue to be actively engaged in their work, Mr. Wooten as a painter and carpenter and Mrs. Wooten in day care; respected citizens in their community, they are both members of the Baptist church; and WHEREAS, The Wootens celebrated their golden anniversary with a reception at the Hilton Midland and Towers; their enduring marriage remains a source of joy and inspiration to the friends and family with whom they have shared the richness of their lives, and they are indeed deserving of warmest congratulations; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Edward and Jane Wooten on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Wooten as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
