H.R. No. 336


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for rejoicing, and on December 13, 2003, Harold and Mary White of Midland marked this significant milestone in their long and happy marriage; and WHEREAS, Harold White and the former Mary Mills were married on December 13, 1953, at First United Methodist Church in Santa Anna; and WHEREAS, Through their five decades of marriage, the Whites have watched with pride as their family has grown to include two daughters, Nancy White and Janet Vessell, and three grandsons; their children hosted a reception honoring the couple's anniversary at St. Luke's United Methodist Church on December 6, 2003; and WHEREAS, Mr. White worked for Amerada Hess in West Texas and New Mexico for 28 years and retired from Sun Exploration and Production Company in Midland in 1988; Mrs. White retired the following year from the district office of the Texas Railroad Commission; and WHEREAS, The Whites remain active in their church, participating in the Keystone Sunday School Class and Prime Timers; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. White's enduring union remains a source of inspiration and joy to the family and friends with whom they have shared the richness of their lives, and this devoted couple is most deserving of warmest congratulations; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Harold and Mary White on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. White as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
