H.R. No. 338


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is truly cause for rejoicing, and Bruce and Maxine Skaggs of Midland marked this momentous milestone in their long and happy union on December 1, 2003; and WHEREAS, Mr. Skaggs and the former Maxine Quinn were married on December 1, 1953, in De Leon; over the years, their close-knit family has grown to include three children, the Reverend Tim Skaggs, Teresa Holiedy, and Tammy Brookshire, as well as nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Skaggs is now retired from John L. Cox Oil Co. and Mrs. Skaggs is a dedicated homemaker; and WHEREAS, This devoted couple celebrated their golden anniversary at a party hosted by their children and with the renewal of their vows, officiated by their son at Wilshire Park Baptist Church, where Mr. and Mrs. Skaggs are valued members; and WHEREAS, The enduring marriage of Bruce and Maxine Skaggs remains a source of joy and inspiration to the friends and family with whom they have shared the bountiful richness of their lives; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Bruce and Maxine Skaggs on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Skaggs as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
