R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Bob and Liz McCurdy of Midland celebrated the happy 
occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner and dance 
at VFW Post No. 4149 on April 3, 2004; and
	WHEREAS, Married in Stanton on April 3, 1954, the McCurdys 
lived for a time there and in Greenwood before moving to Midland; 
Mr. McCurdy worked for Mobil Oil for nearly four decades until his 
retirement in 1991, while Mrs. McCurdy was employed by Stanton Drug 
and Hall Drug; before their marriage, Mr. McCurdy served in the U.S. 
Army for two years; and
	WHEREAS, The couple have raised three children, Rick McCurdy, 
Bud McCurdy, and Elizabeth Sparks, and have seen their family 
further blessed with eight grandchildren and four 
great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, For half a century, a deep bond of love, trust, and 
respect has sustained Mr. and Mrs. McCurdy through life's many 
trials and triumphs; the strength and vitality of their union stand 
as a testament to the mutual devotion that continues to inspire all 
who know them; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Bob and Liz McCurdy on their golden 
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for 
continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McCurdy as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
